The NHL off-season is officially underway after the Vegas Golden Knights captured their first Stanley Cup in franchise history on Tuesday, but they are not seen as the betting favourites to repeat.
Heading into the 2023-24 season, the Colorado Avalanche sit atop the latest odds to lift the Stanley Cup at the end of the season at +800. The Avalanche won it all in 2022 but were eliminated by the Seattle Kraken in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year.
Among the Canadian teams with the best odds to break the Cup drought are the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers, who open at +1100. The Montreal Canadiens open with the worst odds among the Canadian NHL teams at +12000 while the Anaheim Ducks remain at the basement of the league at +15000.
Among the teams to drop down the odds are the Boston Bruins and the Golden Knights, who open at +1300.
Here is where the rest of the league stands on the latest Stanley Cup betting odds.
