Alex Hales played a crucial role in leading Nottinghamshire Outlaws to victory in the Vitality Blast by scoring an unbeaten 65 runs. With his aggressive batting at the beginning, Hales ensured that his team stayed ahead of the required run rate.
As the innings progressed, he played the anchor role, allowing his teammates Tom Moores and Shaheen Afridi to power Nottinghamshire to victory with four balls remaining.
The match concluded without any last-minute suspense, as Afridi hit two sixes off de Leede and Trevaskis in the final over, securing the win for Nottinghamshire. Afridi’s quick cameo of 17 runs from 12 balls, including two sixes and a four, proved instrumental in the team’s triumph.

Earlier, Durham’s Ollie Robinson took on the Nottinghamshire bowlers, hitting Afridi for two boundaries and achieving his second consecutive fifty in the Vitality Blast after his outstanding performance against Yorkshire.
However, Afridi later exacted his revenge by dismissing Robinson. In the last two overs, Afridi and McKerr restricted Durham to just nine runs, preventing them from building a bigger total. Afridi’s bowling figures were 1/39 in his four overs.
Ultimately, Durham finished with a total of 168 runs in their 20 overs.
